Shelly MacDermid

Lead vocals, harmony and percussion

Shelly is a born front-woman. She has extensive experience performing at weddings, fairs, festivals, corporate functions and night clubs. Her voice has been compared to both Adele and Janis Joplin and it is incredibly versatile. She has studied with Brian Vollmer of the acclaimed rock band Helix, and has developed vocal techniques that allow her to sing consecutive shows without strain or fatigue. Shelly is an outgoing, passionate performer, who leaves crowds shouting for more every time she sings.

Darryl Fletcher

Lead vocals and guitar

With 16 years of performing, song-writing and recording under his belt as the guitarist/vocalist for various rock acts, Darryl has a passion for the stage and an ear for perfection. Whether it’s rock, blues, Top 40, or Motown, he puts his heart and soul into every note. Giving the audience an energetic, emotional musical experience is what Darryl does best, and he strives to broaden his musical horizons with each performance.

Ariel Kasler

Keyboard, guitar and arrangements

In addition to a busy performing and teaching schedule on both sides of the US-Canada border, Ariel is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance at BGSU in Ohio. Since graduating from internationaly-renowned Berklee College of Music in 2005, he has performed throughout North America and Israel, and led showbands on cruise liners around the world. Audiences thrill to see Ariel’s mastery of both instruments, as he switches between them seamlessly onstage.

Nicholas Walker

Drums and percussion

Nicholas earned his Bachelor of Music in Percussion from the University of Windsor and now teaches drumset at the Academy of Music. He has played in orchestras throughout Windsor and Detroit, and performed extensively across Ontario and Quebec. He is also currently the principal percussionist of the Windsor Light Opera. Nick is a born performer, and his energy and charisma shine through every beat he plays.

Barry Usher

Saxophone

Barry is a versatile woodwind performer and educator based in London, Ontario. Being at home in numerous musical styles, from jazz to classical and beyond, has provided Barry the privileged of working with many wonderful artists and organizations including Orchestra London Canada, the Stratford Festival, Drayton Entertainment Theatres and the Grand Theatre, London. As an educator, Barry is a sought after private teacher and clinician. Currently, he teaches saxophone and coaches jazz combos in the music faculty at the University of Western Ontario.

Ron Walker

Trumpet

A trumpet player from London Ontario, Ron Walker attended Humber college as a performance major. During which time, he represented Ontario as a member of the house band at the world expo in Vancouver. He has performed with various groups including the Deerhurst Vegas Show, Frank Sinatra Jr, Frankie Valli, Bobby Vinton, Lou Christie and the Blooze Brothers to name a few.

Peter Hysen

Trombone

Peter Hysen is a multi-instrumentalist and musical arranger. He performs regularly on trombone, bass trombone, tuba and acoustic bass. He has been commissioned to write arrangements for orchestras across Canada including The National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Stratford Festival Orchestra and has written over fifty arrangements for brass quintet. He has vast musical theatre experience and has performed with a diverse variety of groups and artists. Peter recently arranged a show for Juno award winning singer-songwriter Alex Cuba to perform with Orchestra London.

Mary Ashton

Harp and violin

A classically-trained violinist, Mary is a graduate of the UWO Faculty of Music and Faculty of Education. At Western she studied with Dr. Robert Skelton and Gwen Thompson while playing with various string ensembles as well as Orchestra London. Mary currently performs with award winning Light of East Ensemble at many festivals across the province and provides solo music for numerous weddings on both harp and violin.
